WordPress Media
Till now, you’ve learned how to add posts and write content in your post. But without images and videos, your post might look clumsy. To make our post we usually use some images and videos in our post. Now, let’s have a look at how can we add images and videos to our post with the help of the Media menu just below the post menu.
Media Library
You can find images, videos, audio, and files in the wordpress media library. These files, images, and videos can be included in your content writing post or page of your website. There are also many different options like Add, delete, and edit in the media library.
Add Media
1) First, click on media, and then you’ll get the option to add new as shown in fig. below:-
3) Now, choose any file from your device that you want to use in your post.
4) After that you can find a similar file in your media library.
Insert Media
Now, we need to insert the media files in wordpress posts/pages. For that, we just need to click the + button on right to add a block, where we will find many different options with a search box. In the search box, you need to type the media library and select the option with the same name. When you select the option of the media library, a box like this will appear to you.
You can use the similar image in your post that we uploaded just a few minutes ago from our device. Let’s see how:-
You just need to open the media library in your post where you’ll get the option to upload media files, and free images. But as you’ve already uploaded images in the media library, you only need to open the media library where you’ll find the same file that you uploaded earlier. You can also upload media while writing your post through the second option upload files.
Edit Media
Now, we’ll know how can we edit the media files. We can do almost everything with the media that we’ve uploaded. You can find a lot of different options here as given when you click on the edit option in the media library where you
uploaded the media for the very first time.
1)Alternative Text:- This text is used for the availability of images and describes the image.
2) Title:- It shows the title of the image.
3)Caption:- It simply allows us to provide a descriptive explanation of the media file.
4)Description:- It normally allows explaining about the media file.
5) File URL:- It helps us to read the link from the media file.
6)Delete:- At the bottom, you also get an option to delete permanently this photo.
7)Update:- After completing these things, you need to click on update to see the changes.
