An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is a pre-configured virtual machine image that you can use to launch Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instances. You can create your own AMI by customizing an existing AMI or by creating an AMI from an EC2 instance.
Creating an AMI:
1. Launch an EC2 instance from an existing AMI or create a custom AMI using an EC2 instance.
2. Connect to the EC2 instance and customize it as desired (e.g. install software, configure settings, etc.).
3. Open the AWS Management Console and Navigate the EC2 dashboard. 4. From the left-hand menu, select "AMIs."
5. Choose "Create Image" from the Actions menu.
6. Give the name and description for the AMI.
7. Select the EC2 instance that you want to create the AMI from.
8. Choose whether to include the root device volume in the AMI.
9. Click "Create Image" to create the AMI.
Your AMI will be created and added to the AMIs list in the EC2 dashboard. You can now use the AMI to launch EC2 instances.
Note that the EC2 instance used to create the AMI will be stopped as part of the process. You can restart the instance if needed, or launch a new instance from the AMI.
