My Name is Tejas Beedkar from Pune, Maharashtra, and have been working as an R&D engineer with System Architect at Magna International for more than 13 years. I have done my Master’s from IIIT Pune.
Before joining the PGP- AIML Program with Great Learning, I was the Product Owner of the Automotive OS used by an MNC OEM.
After working for so many years, I wanted to transit and was looking for a way to reskill on AI and ML. However, sooner I realized that self-learning was not possible as this field was quite different from the type of engineering that we had always done.
I chose the Great Learning program as it covered all that I wanted to learn. With the kind of reviews I had read about the program, I realized that classroom sessions were the best part of the program as you could ask questions that require a deep dive into the content. I was part of the 2020 (Covid years) batch, and due to the pandemic, we could not have a Classroom session. However, despite not having face-to-face classroom sessions, the virtual session with the same set faculty was very engaging.
I was thoroughly engaged in the virtual/ online learning sessions. It was a delight to learn from the stalwart faculty of Great Learning – Prof Mukesh Rao, Dr. Narayana, and Rajeev Kumar.
I wanted to set supporting production-intent Computer Vision projects in my current employment post the Computer vision course was completed.
I am glad I was able to do so through the PGP-AIML course.
Lastly, I would like to advise those who are looking to make a career in Machine Learning and Deep Learning domain to rush up your Math and Stats. If boolean algebra is at the heart of traditional programming, calculus is at the heart of AI and ML.
