Having completed my undergrad from Tier 3 engineering college, I always had a perception that this might not serve me with the right opportunities that I dreamt off.
So, abroad higher education was in my mind for a long time. I did succeed in that dream to some extent with an admit from a Top 100 university in the US. But COVID came, my dream of flying to the US shattered. I was left alone stranded in the middle. But a conversation with a stranger brought things back. I got a whole new level of clarity after that chat. I was searching for a job and succeeded with an offer from Accenture.
But my dream to study abroad was always alarming me and running in my mind. A random exploration in Google gave a pinch start to my analytics journey. I was convinced that Analytics is where I want to see myself. And with this mindset, I became more ambitious. I did thorough research and I started planning my journey from then. I made up my mind that I want to do an advanced analytics degree from a top 30 university. Yes, that was ambitious. When I looked and checked on my fit for the same, I was not even 10% assured of this ambitious dream. My portfolio did not have any element or coursework that would convince the adcom at a top US B-School. And that’s when I started chasing this dream and started with portfolio building. I searched through the internet rigorously for a couple of weeks to find something which can give a great head start to my chase. And that’s when I got this idea to do an online course that can allow me to work on my dream and as well balance my professional experience at Accenture. In search of a great course available in the market, I found this Great Learning program to be a great fit for me. Immediately after my call with the GL executive, I thought this is what I exactly needed. A great mix of theoretical and practical experience that can walk me through the basics of analytics and slowly build on from there. Mentor connections were of great help to solve our doubts and add an additional perspective to our thinking.
At the end of this program, I was sure that I had achieved the goal that I had before joining this course. The contents, professors, videos, mentors, projects and overall learning experience were top-notch. Mentor Uday was not just a mentor, rather a coach. He went beyond the class and gave amazing information that could be useful throughout life. And yes, I already have a couple of admits from the top 30 US universities already. And waiting for a few of the top 10 programs.
And the best part that this program gives me as a surprise is that it made me B-School ready even before joining. I already have clarity and knowledge of about 40% of the curriculum that I will be facing.
This program served me beyond my expectations and I am really proud and happy that I have made it after a year-long journey filled with challenges, struggles, sacrifices and yes, no weekend fun and breaks as well.
