The significance of small steps- Tushar Panday, PGP DSBA

Table of contents

Upskilling in the field of Data Science can prove to be very beneficial in your career. Read more about Tushar’s journey with Great Learning’s PGP Data Science and Business Analytics in his own words.

I am an Electrical Engineering graduate with a total 5 years of experience. 2 year and 7 months as Procurement Engineer with BOSCH Ltd and 2 year and 6 months as Operations Manager with Rivigo Services. Before joining the DS Program, I was taking care of Logistical Operations of Rivigo of Kanpur, Jhansi, Gorakhpur and Varanasi.

Biggest professional challenge for me before joining GL was to present insights from data. I was interested in data and have given lot many basic insights but to drill deeper, you need to have deep knowledge of the same as well. I was looking for the transition into the data world because it keeps challenging you daily and not even daily it challenges you every moment.

“Mentor support was immense and most importantly no matter how much silly the question is; you will get best possible answer and mark my words, at any time of the day as well.”

Consistency was my only key throughout this journey. Without dedication, it would have not possible to achieve transition. Curriculum was designed perfectly and with a lot of experience. Mentor support was immense and most importantly no matter how much silly the question is, you will get best possible answer and mark my words, at any time of the day as well.

My only advice to people who are looking for transition is to give your best in the program and explore content apart from the program as well to get more hands on if possible. Although the content of program is self-sufficient. Also, people looking for a transition should know that you can’t be a data scientist from the next day of the program and taking a small step everyday towards your goal is important. That’s how I did it.
