Hello everyone! I am Divya Prakash Baithalu. I am from Odisha, and I have completed both my schooling and graduation from Odisha. I completed my B.Tech. under the discipline of Computer Science and just after that, started my professional career with Infosys, where I was a .Net developer. I continued my software engineer journey with Tech Mahindra and then finally joined Deloitte as a Senior Software developer. I have experience working in .Net MVC, C#, Web Services, WCF, SQL Server, Oracle, Javascript, and Azure DevOps.

Before I joined the PGP-AIML Online course, I was working and still working as a Senior Net developer in Deloitte. There were several challenges that I faced over the 6.5 years journey. The recent one that I faced was in Deloitte. The project that I work on is from the Tax domain. I had never worked before in this domain. The application that we are working on is huge and involves lots of clients. As it was a legacy application, the clients were facing many issues, and they were constantly asking for upgrades. But to do it, we had to upgrade the technologies used. We had to update the .net framework, javascript libraries, jquery libraries, and also a few of the web services. It was quite a challenge for me as I didn’t have much domain knowledge. I had to acquire it within a limited time along with the up-gradation. But then, too, I was able to deliver all the user stories with enhanced performance. Recently we have started migrating the old WCF services to microservices and deploying them to AWS, which is more challenging compared to the previous one because of its complicated architecture. So wish me all the best!!!

I got to know about Great Learning from my friend who actually had done a Data Science course, and after discussing with him about the practical skills and in-depth understanding of concepts that we get here, I chose Great Learning’s PGP AIML. And, I didn’t have any apprehensions because I have learned online earlier too, so that was not a big challenge to me.

I will say the mentored learning sessions are a must because AI/ML world is kind of an ocean, and there are infinite possibilities, and because of this, I get lots of doubts. Although the online content that is available is good, we can’t ask anyone the doubts that we have or the challenges that we face. We can clarify those in the weekend sessions. Hence, I never miss a class. The quality of mentoring sessions is good. Especially if I talk about Mr. Raghu as he is my mentor, his way of explaining things is fabulous. He shares the industry scenarios, which are quite ethical and helpful. Sometimes it happens I am not able to visualize a few concepts properly, and when I ask him, the examples he gives are more than enough to grasp the concept. A mentor is a must for our development. My mentor is very understanding, and even if we ask silly questions, he never minds and gives his best to make us understand the concept.

Through these newly learned skills sets, the things that I can think of including are the projects that we get after every module. It takes a lot of time to understand and answer those and also sometimes requires a lot of research. I am quite happy that till now, I was able to complete all the projects. Other than that, I didn’t get any opportunity to put my skills to work as I don’t have any AI/ML or data science projects to work on in my unit. So, I am looking forward to completing this course so that either I will be able to get a good project on this or will get a career transition.

To the new learners, I would like to say, “All the best, everyone in your journey.” Please pursue this course only if you are serious as you have to give your time regularly to complete and understand the online content and also get good scores on the quiz. The projects are quite hectic (but it is for your good only), and if you are not willing to give your time, it will not at all be fruitful and just a waste of money. Honestly speaking, this is a tiresome course, but you have to keep going to get the absolute benefit out of this.

Happy Learning.
