1. Tell me about your personal/professional background.

Ans: I am Sanjat Mohanty, and currently, I’m working with Great Software Laboratory (GS Lab), Pune as a Support Engineer. My domain of work is related to Containers, Microservices, and Cloud Computing.

2. What were you doing before you joined the PG program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning?

Ans: Before joining PGP-AIML, I used to study more on Cloud Technology as I was into Cloud-based Support-Engineering.

3. What was your absolute biggest professional challenge before joining our program? How did that challenge make you feel?

Ans: My biggest challenge was the Time-Management; being a Support Engineer, I used to work in different shifts. Due to my shift timings, I always used to study for my tests in a crunched time frame.

4. Why did you choose us? Did you have any apprehensions in learning in an online medium, and how were those mitigated?

Ans: The systematic approach designed to teach the concepts of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning was unique, so I joined Great Leaning in collaboration with UT-Austin. I had no such apprehensions in learning in an online medium because all doubts were cleared by the GL team before admission.

5. At Great Learning, we have pioneered mentored learning sessions. Tell us how important these sessions are for you?

Ans: Mentoring sessions were very important for me, which helped me to understand every AIML topic much more practically. Our mentor shared a lot of study material so that we could deep dive any time w.r.t any topic or concept. Also, their expertise helped us in our final Capstone project as well.

6. How do you feel about the quality of mentored learning sessions?

Ans: The quality of mentored learning sessions was excellent because the assigned mentors are the Industry Experts. They know all things we need to study and guided us on how to face the challenges coming from Industry.

7. What is the role of your mentor in your success? How well do you think your mentor supported you during the course of the program?

Ans: Mentor made the toughest topic of AIML very easy. Due to this, I was able to decide on the project which was suitable for me. Hence, I must say the role of my mentor was important in the course of the program.

8. What have you accomplished from your newly learned skill sets?

Ans: Fortunately, I got a chance to work with [Machine-Learning Initiative], a POC level team in my company. I want to achieve more in this field as it’s just a start for me.

9. What advice would you give to people who are just starting with learning analytics?

Ans: Make sure your basics of “Statistics” and “Python” are very clear. We have lots of data available over the internet, so use this data for your practice and in different domains of projects to increase your analytics skill.
