Upskilling with Artificial Intelligence can prove to be extremely beneficial and help you power ahead your career. In today’s ever-changing world, technology is advancing rapidly. My name is Guru Siddharth, and I have around seven years of IT experience. Completing my Mechanical engineering, IT was the space in which I always wanted to be, and with that focus in mind, I managed to get a job as a software test engineer and eventually decided to move towards development. I wanted to be a Data Engineer or a Data Visualization Engineer; I managed to move towards a development role. I have worked in 4 companies in my career, and I am currently working as a Technology Consultant (Lead Data Engineer) at Tredence Analytics. Previously, I was working as a Senior Business Intelligence Developer at Lotus Analytics, which is where I decided to upskill myself in learning Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to get in predictions with my data visualizations.
Joining this program was a delightful experience. I wanted to upskill myself, and the biggest reason for me to decide on taking this course is to make sure I have good knowledge of the entire data pipeline. Data pipeline, according to me, is from sourcing the data and predicting the data. The import aspects within the pipeline consist of Data Sourcing, Data Modelling, Data Transformation, Data Visualization, and Prediction. I had experience in every entity of data except Data Prediction. That is when I decided to learn and upskill on the missing element of my portfolio building.
According to me, upskilling in the IT industry is inevitable. To survive with the highest recognition in the industry, one has to be always ready with the highest possible cutting-edge technologies that are available in the respective current trend. For me, AI/ML is that cutting-edge technology to keep myself at the highest possible position that I could think of.
My transition happened well and is happening even now as this transition is time-consuming to incorporate everything that I have learned in the course. My interview was of 2 rounds, and I had three offers in hand. I had received three more successful interview completion calls, but those were after I joined the organization, which I had to turn down even without receiving the offer.
The strong learning content of the course, helpful mentor, knowledgeable faculty, and my program managers helped me throughout my journey. Choosing this course is the best decision I have ever made. I am lucky to get Mr. Yuvaraju as my mentor. He is a very supportive, knowledgeable person who always suggests to the students what to do next as part of their career growth, how things happen in real-time.
The curriculum is really broad and widespread with the necessary details for the transition because everything is covered, from the basics to advanced concepts. I feel so good that I am performing well as Lead Data Engineer. I can incorporate my learning in a real-time project with so much ease, and I very often refer to the learning content and cheat sheets during my implementation.
What Next? DATA SCIENTIST – That would be a dream come true moment moving into the role of Data Scientist. But the time for that is not very far to make my dream come true.
I love the work that Great Learning and its team are doing. Everything else would follow. Transitions are interesting, difficult, time taking, and satisfying. Everyone would face hurdles during the transition but fight all of them without losing hope. Everything else would follow.
