The field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is constantly growing. Upskilling in this domain can help you power ahead. Read further to learn about Kasturi’s journey with Great Learning’s PGP Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Course in her own words.
I completed my BE in Computer Science in 2019, and I am currently working as a software engineer. I was working full time while studying the PGP-AIML course at Great Learning.
My biggest professional challenge would be adapting to the new workplace, and the new tasks work. I used to feel like I did not fit in. However, with a little help from my colleagues, I managed to fit into my designated role and workplace.
I chose Great Learning as it had good credibility, and I had read from many reviews that it offered good courses of PGP in my field of interest. Also, it provided well-planned lectures for working professionals like myself so that the learning process could fit into my schedule properly. Having the lectures online helped me a lot as I could access these lectures at any time and from anywhere; it was easy to rewatch the topics I found difficult.
The topics that were difficult to understand or the doubts I had in them were cleared in mentored learning sessions, which were on weekends. They summarized the topics we learned in the week and focussed on some relevant topics not covered in the lectures as well. Those sections offered some good insight on the topics at hand and different perspectives of people learning along with me. Those sections were essential in understanding the topics, and mentors helped a lot in clearing any doubts we had. While working full-time and studying, I faced some difficulties, and I promptly received help from my mentors to deal with them.
This course provided a better understanding of the AIML field and also provided hands-on practice. I am currently venturing into ML competitions on the Kaggle platform and testing my skills there. I would suggest the aspirants in this field keep practicing and testing their skills on other platforms and take on new challenges while working on solutions to learn new things.
