My name is Thangaselvi. I am currently working as a Senior Software Engineer in Bank of America and I have a total work experience of more than 12 years. When I had picked the AIML Blended program, I was working as a Project Lead in Bank of New York Mellon.
The main reason I joined the AIML Blended program was to know about the technology in detail. It is quite a new technology and I wanted to explore that more.
My capstone project was an AI-based Attendance Management System, the idea came from our team member’s previous experience and we all thought it would be very useful. Initially, time management and synchronizing was difficult for us, but eventually, we worked late hours and early mornings to complete our capstone.
Our Mentor Anand sir was great. He helped us in each phase of our project and also worked late hours with us.
After completing the capstone, I learned that a literature survey is a very important part of any new solution. It helps us to learn from the procedures undertaken by our predecessors and we learn from their lessons. These ideas help us to bring forth a better solution and learn from the success and failures which we face through the process.
Time management, team effort, and respecting each other’s contribution and the literature surveys are the takeaways from the capstone.
One piece of advice if I may give all the aspirants is that it’s absolutely fine if you are not able to understand all the topics at first, this is a new technology and everyone here would learn new things every day. Small steps taken every day will make you better over a period of time. Also, the regular practice did help me coupled with the wonderful teaching at GL.
