Overcoming Obstacles: How Great Learning Empowered an IT Engineer’s Career Journey

Table of contents

As an IT engineer from Mumbai University, I am currently working as an Analyst with a Mainframe background at Bank of America. With six years of experience in the IT field, I specialize in Mainframe development and modernization. Despite facing financial difficulties, I was determined to pursue additional qualifications and enrolled in a program that offered comprehensive basic concepts. After doing my research and considering my colleague’s experience, I chose Great Learning, a reputable institution in the field of IT education.

During my learning journey, I encountered various challenges with regard to academic queries, but my Program Manager, Ajit Pal Singh, was an incredible resource and effectively resolved them. Additionally, the interaction with knowledgeable mentors such as Prerit, Netali, and Jay played an instrumental role in shaping my basic understanding of the concepts, both theoretically and practically. Their insights helped me develop confidence in my ability to pursue a career in data science.

However, I understand the importance of putting in the extra effort to practice and understand the basics before advancing to more complex courses. Taking the time to practice and understand the reasoning behind using certain methods is crucial to building a solid foundation for more advanced topics.

In conclusion, I feel that my experience at Great Learning was incredibly beneficial in advancing my IT skills and knowledge. I am grateful for the support of the program managers and mentors who helped me overcome the obstacles I faced along the way.
