I am Abhishek Bose currently staying in Pune(Maharashtra) and basically from Bilaspur(Chhattisgarh).
I have done my engineering in Information Technology from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg (Chhattisgarh). I have 8+ Years of experience and am currently employed with Fiserv which is a Fortune 500 company. I work as a Senior Application developer and from the start of my career I always love to code. My expertise is in the Legacy systems i.e. Mainframes and I work in the Fraud and Risk domain for the credit card industry.
Before joining this program and currently too, I am employed with Fiserv.
The Covid-19 pandemic has changed everyone’s life which nobody has thought of, and still, the future is uncertain, and nobody knows when everything will be back to normal. I personally think that every challenge also brings an opportunity which in this case is the work from home where I got some extra time which I thought to utilize by learning new skills and getting ready for the change which the world is undergoing.
I was totally unaware of the new programming language – Python and concepts of Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence. However, this program always gave me confidence and guidance to learn these new skills with ease.
I heard about Great learning over social media, and it was also recommended by one of my colleagues. This was my first online learning experience which is nowadays a new normal. Of course, I had some common fears like how my doubts will be addressed, how can I have the hands-on experience, or will my knowledge be limited to the content of the course? However, Great learning has done a commendable job here in the way the course and the sessions were planned. There was always excitement whenever new content was released and the quiz, mentored learning session and the project associated with it.
Mentored learning sessions are a great way to connect with your peers and to revise your learning and also to clear your doubts if any. These sessions also gave us an opportunity to know others’ opinions and real life experience in dealing with data science problems.
The quality of mentored learning sessions is very good and useful. The assigned mentor is always ready to help and support as and when required. Even after the session, if there were any pending doubts or clarifications, those were answered over a common WhatsApp group by sharing relevant contents and references.
My Mentor was always a go-to person for me during this exciting journey where at any point in time, I know if I get stuck, I will get the necessary help to tackle the problem in a smart way. Mentors also motivate you to keep doing better and push your limits to achieve more than what you can imagine.
The newly learned skills not only added feathers on my hat but also helped me in my current job where I have developed several tools and solutions which have automated many redundant processes. I was awarded and rewarded for my hard work and excellence shown in my current job role because of showcasing the newly learned skills.
I have been selected for the Digital transformation program in my company where selected people will be trained on new skills like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, AI etc.
As we all know, the situation of the pandemic has changed many lives, but still many organizations and companies are still at their peak in terms of growth and revenue. The only reason why these organizations and companies have outperformed is that they are adapting to the new change and solving the business problem and customer experience by the immense use of technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, cloud, mobile and so on. I believe learning analytics will not just help you in your career but also gives you a pair of new eyes to see the new and changing world and to adapt to it. Happy Learning!!
