I transitioned to working on Customer Experience over Social Media and Brand Reputation Management over the next few years. I was always quite distant from programming and computer sciences as a whole. However, I realized how essential it is to equip myself with the tools of today’s technology.
I went with Great Learning because of the confidence of their team in laying out the program details and what it is that I would require, and the flexibility of learning at my own pace.
Mentored learning sessions were where the core learning happened for me. As a student, I learn faster while having a conversation with someone on the topic rather than from reading up on dense material. These sessions provided exactly that. Also, the expert human touch was essential in keeping me engaged and motivated through the program.
The mentor I was assigned to was just great. Being in a small group allowed me to connect at a personal level and have a learning experience that was suited to my pace. My mentor provided me with the bridge between theory and industrial practice. As a beginner, my mentor understood my background and presented the topics in a way that would be relevant and interesting.
I’ve gained the confidence to take on AI ML-related problems head-on and rely on my learned knowledge to find the solutions.
For those who are just beginning to navigate these AI/ML domains, it may seem daunting at first. There will be people around you who know so much more than you do at the moment. The key is to visualize the peak of the journey where you have unlocked the potential of technology and are performing tasks that you never imagined. The sense of fulfillment you’ll achieve is worth the challenge. Never be ashamed to seek help from your mentors and peers, and more importantly – keep pushing!
