I have around 12 years of experience with a background in Human Resources. Currently, I am working as an Operations Head in a Product company based on psychometrics, majoring in the financial sector. I have been working as an operations head in a company where I have spent 9 years.
My job requires making decisions on product improvement based on the data and its conclusions based on its analysis. Before our software was in place and while it was in a developmental mode, we had to manage the data analysis through rudimentary methods, which was quite painstaking and time-consuming, pushing our deadlines ahead, thus making our job more difficult.
The association of Great Learning with Great Lakes and a combined certificate from Austin University was the main highlight for me. I always have this fear of not being able to cope with the online learning model, one needs to be highly self-motivated, and I always end up leaving an online course unfinished. But what GL offered was a combination of online mode with tests and projects with deadlines, and sporadic evaluations are what kept me on my toes. The mentoring sessions at the end of each week helped us resolve our queries and gave us a chance to interact with the mentors and get a feel of the live environment in a data analytics job.
The mentored learning sessions were the highlight of the program, as, without these, we would have been lost. Not only did the mentors clear our conceptual doubts, but also they also helped us with the implications of the same in the actual working scenarios. Mentors kept us motivated throughout the program.
There is a huge role of my mentors in my success. They were always available to answer all our queries. By doing this course, I have now unveiled new career paths options for myself.
If you really want to do a course in data science, do consider the PGP DSBA program from GL. The program is well structured and designed to be able to teach even a beginner from a totally unrelated background.
