Tell us about your professional background.
I was working with Mainframes at Tata Consultancy Services before joining the Great Learning Machine Learning and Analytics course. I am currently working as an Associate Data Scientist at Royal Dutch Shell.
Why Great Learning?
I chose to join this particular course because it was a weekend batch. I have heard a lot of good reviews about the program, and now that I have completed the Machine Learning course, I can say that all these reviews were accurate. The course curriculum was well structured too.
I had a transition as a Data Analyst. I was working with older technology, and I didn’t find it to be as exciting as data science. I wanted to learn more about these concepts because I was interested in them.

What did you like the most about the course?
I liked the evaluation process and the assignments, the mini-projects and the capstone project. We were given theoretical knowledge along with practical knowledge as well. The discussions around all the course topics were interesting, as I was able to network with people of different backgrounds and different experience levels.
Another aspect was that they incorporated Big Data and ML. Great Learning is up to date with the market trends and keeps changing the content as required. They know the value of the course content and the value of these skills in the current market.
At the time, I didn’t choose to opt for any career support. But the job fair that I attended was good.
Any advice for future Machine Learning aspirants?
Don’t think twice, just go ahead with it! Apart from our time as professionals on the job, we choose to spend some time on an additional course. Thus, we should be getting a return on investments. Speaking in terms of career advancements and skills, you will get a great ROI. The faculty here are knowledgeable and will provide you with the required information. I would recommend the course to anyone interested. Great Learning also holds a valuable brand name.
