Keeping up with the market requirements – Abhishek Gupta, PGP DSBA

Table of contents

I have ten years of experience in E-commerce and Telecom Industry along with French language skill set. I have worked with Tech Mahindra, Ericsson and Accenture in various Individual Contributor and Team Management roles.

Before joining the PG program, I was working with Accenture for one of the biggest E-commerce portals as a Transaction Risk Analyst analysing the fraud trends within E-commerce industry

The trends of the market are changing very quickly and with Big data; speed, accuracy and diversity of performing Extract/Transform/Load and doing further analysis has become a rather good and positive challenge. I was looking for a career transition to remain relevant in the industry and prepare myself for future challenges in the industry.

The interview was scheduled in 4 rounds including a round with analysis on dummy data. I had other offers from the Telecom sector too.

The knowledge and technical know-how gained during the program helped me immensely. Most importantly the knowledge of current market trends opens up the horizon of your thinking and your overall approach towards problems.

The curriculum was well designed and catered to job requirements. One also has to ensure that they keep updated with the market requirements and keep on polishing their skills accordingly.

Post moving into my new role, I realised that the learning should continue and I am looking to explore more avenues to sharpen my skills. I plan to undertake more responsible roles in the future.

My advice would be to believe in yourself and understand that nothing is easy and even if you don’t have a technical background, you can learn anything with hard and smart work.

One just needs to realise the potential within and not give up. And also no knowledge goes to waste ever.”
