I have been in the Software Industry for 25 years now. My areas of experience have been SaaS, Cloud, Mobile. A year back, I left the corporate world to be a Co-founder at an AI start-up to work on an Augmented Reality Application.
The basic idea was to create an AI Holographic entity based on any character, say, Leonardo Da Vinci, which could have intelligent human-like conversations.
The prototype included a hardware smart glass from Microsoft called Hololens. I used Amazon Alexa SDK for voice conversations. While the prototype was cool, the intelligence of the entity was still not at all good.
I then used GPT-3, an NLG, pre-trained transformer, to create intelligence in the entity. GPT-3 was trained with almost all available data from the Internet and showed amazing performance in various NLG tasks. It had, for example, access to every article ever written on Da Vinci. You could also let this entity know you as a person so that conversations could become more personalized. During my AI journey, I realized that though I was using GPT-3 as a black box, it would be good to understand how GPT-3 worked so that I could make further modifications. I dwelled deeper into how Pre-trained transformers work and explored how I could train them on my customized data in addition to internet data.
The incredible AI work on GPT-3 made it possible for me to create an AI Core platform that could power any solution to the next level. The power of human-machine conversational AI goes beyond future predictions on, say, demand and price of any commodity. Presently, I am helping the biggest Travel tech company in the world to make the next generation leap to be the leading Travel tech AI company, to become the Tesla of Travel.
