My name is Sheik and I am 33 years old. I’ve a 6 years old daughter and my wife is a digital marketing professional. For the past 5 years, I’ve been working as a lead analyst at CGI that provided retail software solutions to Oil and energy major Shell. There, I personally managed a 5+ team of software projects, and made sure everything went smoothly in terms of business goals, deadlines, software quality.
In today’s digital economy, the amount of data is exploding and companies are increasingly looking to drive decisions based on available data, hence I have decided to upskill myself in data science and business analytics to empower businesses for good.
Also, I have got an opportunity to work on a few contracts on Upwork freelancing platform. I thought the PGP DSBA program would really help me to further expand my data science/ML portfolio to showcase to my prospective clients on Upwork. My vision to empower businesses to operate efficiently with data driven decisions for good and to make the world a better place for all is what keeps me motivated and focused in PGP-DSBA course.
I researched several online learning platforms and finally chose GL as the program curriculum is well structured and focused on domain applications of concepts learnt over the entire program. Yes, I had apprehensions about learning in an online medium initially, but those were mitigated when I gave a thought on flexibility it brings to me to manage my current work and also learn at my own pace. Also, mentored learning sessions over weekends and dedicated program management gave me the confidence to pursue PGP DSBA program online.

I realized gradually that it is very important to have a mentored learning session during the weekend. It cleared my doubts on any concepts learnt over the week. I feel this is a great model of watching pre-recorded videos during the work week at our own pace and a live mentored session during the weekend. This model gave me the much needed flexibility to manage my current work, my family and my career aspirations.
