Upskilling in the field of Analytics is essential to keep up with the ever-changing world. Read further to learn more about Yerra Thulasi Lavanya‘s journey with Great Learning’s PGP Data Science and Business Analytics Course in her own words.
I am Thulasi. I am working for an organisation on Data Warehousing falling under banking domain.
Before joining this program, I was completely into the world of Teradata querying and pulling reports. In the present scenario, where data increases exponentially in all domains, data storage or understanding the data was a big challenge I was facing. We really wanted to equip ourselves with the growing trends. When this discussion came up on a coffee break is when I heard about the Data science and analytics course from my group. Though initially, I was hesitant enough to enroll in an online format which my generation is not used to compared to the present scenario, I took it up considering my work-life balance.
In great learning, the program is so well structured that really it was a cakewalk to learn and complete the course successfully. I should mention the mentored learning sessions that helped us with simplified explanations of the concepts, as well as given practical experience of coding.
Mentors were so well equipped and helpful to answer our queries then and there as soon as the queries were posted. I consider this to be an important part of the program.
My accomplishment from this new skillset is that I really don’t have a fear of large data anymore, and I have ample techniques that are handy with me to read and predict multiple results out of it. I would say that this learning has made my work more and more interesting and brought a new perception within me.
My piece of advice would be to learn this course from a layman’s perspective and never ever pile up any topic.
Happy Learning!
