I am a B.Tech in Information Technology and was working in the field of SAP. I was very much intrigued about the future scope of Data Science and Machine Learning in the industry and knew that learning these skills would be essential for the future. I wanted to switch to Data Science, but the entry-level jobs were not easily available for that. So I accepted the Internship for the same.
But as I didn’t have any formal exposure to Machine Learning, I faced a lot of issues and learned it while doing the work. I was good at model building but wasn’t sure about how to do data mining and preprocessing with the help of domain knowledge. So I started looking for professional courses in Data Science.
I found many courses online, but none was able to capture my attention, like the Great Learning Data Science and Business Analytics course. The main attraction is Mentor sessions and the Industry application session from the people working in the industry. The course materials and quizzes are good and give you a deeper understanding of the subject. The module’s final project tests the practical aspects of learning. Along with that, program support is like the cherry on top, and they will always follow up if you miss any sessions or have any issues with content or assignment.
The live mentoring sessions were really informative, and I would like to thank my mentor, Mr. Aniket Goel, for the interactive and informative mentoring sessions, along with solving our queries. I learned a lot about how to approach a data science project from him.
The decision to invest in the online post-graduate program along with the job has finally paid off for me. I had to juggle a lot of things, and that made me better at organizing my priorities along with my responsibilities. For someone who is starting in the field of analytics, If you are really serious about it, then learn from a few online materials and understand the basic concepts first and then apply for a post-graduation program where you can build on the foundation of basic concepts you already knew.
