I did my schooling in SBOA School and Junior College and pursued my undergraduate in National Institute of Technology, Trichy (Production Engineering). My overall work experience is 4 years in the IT, Data Warehousing Domain.
I started my career as a Programme Analyst in Cognizant Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd. I had tried a lot of career options and realised that my cup of tea is working with Data. I again re-started my career in Psiog Digital as Software Engineer and had an amazing experience in working with an Integration tool Dell Boomi. The place where I realised my interest in Data science and analytics and joined the Great Learning Course. I am currently working as a Senior Software Engineer in Larsen & Toubro Limited and leading a Dell Boomi project.
My biggest professional challenge was finding the roadmap to pursue my interest along with my professional work and also had thoughts on how to align Data analytics with my current professional skills and to figure out my career roadmap down the line.
Streamlined process of completion, learning from experts, Hackathons, having a peer- competition, all these drive more interest in knowing about analytics and helped me to keep up the spirit. Also, I knew I would get a chance to learn with peers from different domains for varied experiences. All these fascinated me to choose Great Learning! Indeed it was Great!
Mentor sessions were important to a great extent to clear our assumptions and drive us in the right direction. It also helped in clearing out the concepts on a weekly basis rather than procrastinating to find the solutions. It helped me to come up with the important points in model building during all our projects especially during the Capstone Project. I will be out of words to explain this because this journey would be incomplete without the amazing mentors who helped me in tough times and have always encouraged and were very understanding throughout the course. I’m very grateful and happy that I had got a chance to interact with them.
Managing your work schedules and weekly assignments is a tough task but a dedicated 6 hours on weekends or an hour on weekdays will aid you to understand and complete the course with strong fundamentals in Analytics. Articulate the most important considerations at the end of every course which will help down the line while implementing your learning skills in the final project. Apart from course, a ground work from your end at the initial stage is required to remember the basics of python. Peers who had no idea on the course were able to ace the projects at the end.
