Tell us about your professional background.
Before joining Great Learning I was working as a Data Architect for more than 5 years. I have more than 15 years of experience in Business Intelligence & Data warehousing under various capacities as a consultant, architect and project management too.

Why did you decide to upskill?
Early in 2015, I was involved in a few initiatives about analytics solution development. Here, I had to interact with Data scientists. This initiative helped me realize the potential of Data Science to solve various problems. I initially started learning a few basic topics from Indian Statistical Institute, and later noticed that to change my career I need to attend a structured learning approach. After some research, I decided to join Great Learning.
Was PGP-DSBA helpful in your career transition?
PGP-DSBA helps aspirants reach their goals and successfully make a shift in career. It helped me adapt to client needs and gave me industry exposure through the project. All the faculty and mentors were helpful, they cleared my doubts whenever needed. I was able to successfully transition from a Data Architect role to a Data Scientist. The course structure is designed well and covers the basics of every topic. So if you’re a beginner, you need not worry at all. You’ll be able to understand all the concepts comprehensively by the end of the course.
Any advice for PGP- DSBA aspirants?
My simple advice for the budding Data Scientists is to dedicate more time to understanding business problems, applying statistics techniques, build optimized models and faster deployments. Insights generated should address the client’s needs and help the society.
