I am Kagiti Balaji, I have done my MCA, and I have rich experience in the IT industry. Currently, I am working as a Big data Engineer at Brillio. My project is a combination of both Big data and Data Science. Since I have strong expertise in Data Science, we do half of the work with ML and deep learning.
Before I joined Brillio, I was working as a Big data developer in TCS. After gaining in-depth knowledge in the field, my decision to take up the Artificial Intelligence – PGP AIML course from Great Learning was a turning point in my career. Not just did this course give me In-depth Knowledge in the field of AI, but also helped me have a wonderful career transition.
After the PGP AIML course from GL, I got a 100% hike in my pay scale and joined my new company – Brillio, as a Big Data Engineer.
The capstone project that was done by this learner on A Deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) design for pathology detection of COVID-19 in chest X-Ray Images during the PGP AIML course was selected at the Prestigious “CD-Make 2021” conference.
Having a habit of thinking at the entrepreneur level, Studying Artificial Intelligence in MCA as a part of the curriculum always interested me a lot and elevated my Entrepreneurial way of thinking. I want to achieve something remarkable in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
Ever since then, I started attending a lot of seminars and demos in different institutions, and finally, I decided to pursue a full-time course from Great Learning.
Having a Strong team, initially, everyone came up with their ideas and problem statement. We placed the ideas of all the team members on one plate and started evaluating all the topics. Finally, we decided to work on healthcare. Meantime the entire world was already facing a problem with the Pandemic- Covid19. So finally, we decided to work on Covid image classification data.
The pain points that I faced during the project were-
- Collecting the training data
- Hardware issues
- To achieve the right accuracy, we tried so many models. Some models aren’t covered in our regular course. The team sits together and learns.
Our mentors, Dr. Narayana and Abdul, supported us very well. Where ever we had a doubt, they stood by us and guided us. Our Coordinator Sahana was also extremely supportive throughout our capstone journey.
I want to say personal thank all the team members and thank you, Great learning, for providing this wonderful opportunity.
After the completion of the capstone project, I changed my organization by receiving a 100%+ hike, I am now very confident in terms of my career, and I am now ready to work on any kind of project that the company assigns me.
The advice to the new learners would be that – The data will never die, so your skillset also never dies. So please keep updating yourself in the right way at the right time.
