I belong to a mediocre family from Kurukshetra in Haryana. We are a family of four with my mother, my wife and my younger brother. Currently, I am working in the Supply Chain Analytics field in Bengaluru. In my free time, I like watching movies and exploring new places.Before I joined the program, I was working as a Business Development Manager in the FMCG industry.
Prior to this job, I have done BTech. and MBA.I wanted to learn data analytics using Python because I wanted to make a career switch to this field.
There were many courses on data analytics running online and among the top 10 courses in India I finalised Great Learning online PGPDSBA program because of mainly three reasons: up to date curriculum as per the latest Industry trends, a large group of Alumni which are well placed at respectable positions in the industry and dedicated career support after the program.It was a wonderful experience with Great Learning.
Weekly module completions, numerous project submissions, lectures on weekends from mentors and doubt-clearing sessions were a few of the highlights of my course journey with Great Learning. The one thing I realized was that if we can manage to spend 5-10 hours per week for upskilling then the compounded result of these efforts at the end are truly amazing. It is very important to diligently follow the weekly materials and finish the weekly assignments all by yourself. Because the preparation starts from here itself.
I can relate that, for the modules which I completed on time, not much effort was required in terms of preparation for interviews. All you need in the end is just to skim through your notes before the interview. And for those modules which I was not able to finish because of any reason, I needed a little more of my effort. I realized that it is better to finish these modules again if you get free time like long weekends etc. The biggest challenge that working professionals like me face is maintaining a continuous study routine.
Perseverance and time management skills become so important that these are the final differentiating factors.There are numerous impacts of the program on me. The most important is that the program has helped me to successfully switch my job domain from Business Development to Data Analysis and that too in HP Inc., a well-renowned MNC.
All thanks to the Great Learning team for their dedicated efforts during the placement drive as I got a 94% hike.Secondly, the successful completion of the program has boosted my confidence to upskill while working full-time. The Data Science and Business Analytics industry landscape is changing fast and one always wants to be up-to-date in his domain. The ability to upskill while working has something which the program has blended into my personality.
