Before I share my learning experience with you, let me start with a quote.
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” – Mahatma Gandhi
I strongly believe that Continuous learning is the only way to sustain in this dynamic world. With around just 2 years of professional experience, I resigned from my job as Technical Analyst from Temenos. After that, I was looking for career opportunities with MBA and also other professional courses.
I came to know about this course through my friend who also pursued this course through online mode. Since I believed that physical interaction with the faculty will enhance the learning, I opted for the residency mode of learning. I joined the Data Science and Business Analytics course in August 2019.
When I entered my class during the first residency, I was nervous about whether I would be able to cope up with the curriculum due to my limited programming and statistical knowledge. The faculties who taught were experts in their industries with good industrial knowledge and current industry trends. The guidance and the method of teaching by them motivated me to learn new technologies and develop my interpersonal skills.
The career guidance that I attended through Excelerate, was very insightful, and got an outline about how the industries handle data and how my curriculum will help me in applying the acquired knowledge. The job portal of GL was a good one giving us relevant job opportunities. Also, I got to know about many other tools while browsing and applying for job opportunities. This made me look for other tool certifications.
The highlight of the program is the capstone project which enabled us to test the knowledge that we acquired during the entire course of the program. The mentor assigned to us for the guidance of the capstone project (Mr. P.V. SUBRAMANIAN) was a very experienced person with good industrial knowledge and good communication skills. He encouraged us to look into other concepts and also learn other tools for capstone projects.
Through their career assistance, I got selected by Deloitte Consulting India Private Limited as an Analyst.
My suggestion to those who are trying to take this course as a part of their career:
- Ask yourself if you would be able to spare some time (at least 4 hours a week) to study this course if you are a working professional.
- Apart from the main curriculum, you should be interested in learning other tools.
