I am a biotech engineer with an MBA in marketing and HR with 8 years of experience and have worked for multiple companies. I was into sales admin, and after the Great Learning course, I am a full-time business analyst in my current company. It plays a key role in my career transition.
I joined SGS India Pvt. Ltd (Health Science) in 2017 as a Sales admin & CRM superuser. It was a big challenge when I moved to the Strategic Transformation department as a business analyst in the year 2019 (April) without any professional certification and a very basic understanding of analytics. At that time, I was looking for the best certification course, and Great Learning offered me dual certification and international recognition. It gives me the added value in my career.
When I started my journey as a business analyst, I initially had a very basic idea about this field, which led me to many challenges like timely submission, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, managing big data, etc. Now my core areas are Predictive Analytics & Data Visualization, and the Data Science tools like R, Tableau made my life easy.
My current company’s recent project on “COVID 19 Predictive Analytics” helped me grow within the organization. Honestly, when I started my journey with Great Learning, I was a little bit worried about it (as it is my 1st online course), but as time goes, it has turned into the most satisfactory decision ever. The program is very well planned, and the course content video and mentoring sessions helped me develop my analytical skills and understanding of data. This program helps me build a strong foundation in data science. All mini-projects and a capstone project gradually increased my interest in analytics.
I would say online courses require hard work and are not easier than traditional classes, and in the weekly mentored learning sessions, the one-to-one conversation helped us to grow individually and help us build a strong foundation in data science. The program managers are also open to feedback.
All the mentors were really nice to me throughout my course. Mentors and trainers have industry experience and real-life experience. I’d like to express my gratitude to all my mentors for their assistance and support. I believe we got everything that we could get through the course. All the industry sessions gave us practical knowledge about what is currently happening in the industry.
I would like to mention the capstone project and our mentor, Mr. Abhay Poddar. The way he helped us throughout our final project was really impressive.
