Upskilling is essential in today’s ever-changing world. Data Science and Analytics are rapidly evolving. Read further to learn about Ganesh Karthick’s journey with Great Learning’s PGP Data Science and Business Analytics Course in his own words.
I have been in the IT industry for over 3 years. Most recently I have been working as a Data Scientist in the TCS Research and Innovation team. And now I am looking to deep dive into the field of data science and analytics. Before joining this program, I was working as a POS application developer in the TCS Financial Inclusion project.
When I decided to do PG the first thing I fixed in my mind was that I need to do it in an online medium and when I searched for the same in Google I found Great Learning was the best among the other E-learning platforms. Starting from the syllabus, mentor support, career support everything impressed me a lot and the reviews for this course were amazing. I even checked with the people who were already enrolled with Great Learning and they even said the same. So I decided to go with Great Learning.
Even though we are provided with amazing lecture videos but without the mentor session I would have not achieved anything. The mentors were so supportive and if we have any doubts we can approach them easily. My mentor Prabhu Ram was so supportive and for me, he looked like a data science encyclopedia. The mentors have lots of industry experience and because of that, we can learn many things which are not covered in the curriculum. The mentor sessions were super informative and helpful. As I mentioned earlier without my mentor I would have not achieved anything. He’ll clear all my doubts without any hesitation. He is very much supportive and even when this course is done I can reach him to get my doubts cleared. I am feeling blessed to have a mentor like him.
With the newly learned skilled sets, I made an internal transfer to the TCS Research and Innovation team. And now I got selected as a Senior data analyst in Logicserve digital. My overall hike was more than 70 percent.
Be focused on your learning path. Don’t hesitate in asking your doubts. Don’t even restrict yourself to the syllabus, learn as much as you can to deep dive into analytics.
Happy Learning!
