Making a shift in your career might seem like an intimidating decision to take, follow Premkumar on his journey with our PGP – AIML course to see how a shift in career benefited him.
Can you tell us about your experience with the AIML program at Great Learning?
At the age of 44, this was one of the best decisions I made. I was sceptical in the beginning because I didn’t have an IT background and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to grasp all the concepts. People around me questioned my decision as well, but within a couple of months, I was able to understand the concepts being taught to me. The program is beneficial to everyone, irrespective of industry or domain. If you wish to keep growing and not become obsolete in the changing business landscape, this would be the right place to start. Coding in Python seemed like a difficult task, but I was able to learn within no time.

Were the weekly videos beneficial?
Great Learning provided all the learners with weekly videos that were curated keeping our interest in mind. The videos had great visuals, audio, and kinaesthetic learning components and this made it easier for us to retain information for a longer time period. Most of these videos teach us industry applications and are very helpful in the long run. We can implement what we learned through the videos in our workplace as well, allowing us to reap benefits while still pursuing the course.
What is your take on Career Support provided from GL?
The mentor support was really great. My mentor, Krishnav, was very dedicated throughout the course. He went out of his way to ensure that all the learners would understand the concepts well. He was never frustrated with me even though I was a slow learner and ensured that I was clear about the concepts taught.
How were the assignments helpful?
I have to say this is the icing on the cake. Assignments are extremely relevant to the industry. Whether you’re from retail, healthcare or BFSI, the course was able to provide AIML solutions to every industry-related problem. We were given practice assignments and final assignments, both of which were very helpful. The final assignments provided a hands-on implementation of real-time industry use cases.
Where do you see yourself in the near future?
I see myself as a solutions architect for upcoming businesses and suggesting AIML implementation to solve the existing business problems.
