I come from a civil engineering background, and I was pursuing my M. Tech from IIT Kharagpur before I joined the PG program in Data Science and Business Analytics (DSBA) with Great Learning.
To me, the biggest professional challenge before joining our program was to make a transition from a core engineering background to a non-core. I personally went ahead with Great Learning because it seemed to be an authentic and famous platform. In addition, Great Learning was offering placement assistance with the program. The live classes and recorded lecture videos helped me a lot.
My journey overall was a very comfortable one. Yes, as I mentioned earlier and my experience was great. It helped me a lot. I felt that the course content was adequate for my learning and professional needs.
Mentored sessions were great, as I got to ask my doubts and questions and get them clarified then and there. The mentors were very calm, even when sometimes I had very silly things to ask.
Through my newly learned skill sets, I have managed to secure a job offer from Bridgei2i. My onboarding process is ongoing. I hope that I will learn a lot from the role they are offering. For now, I will be starting a new career in Bridgei2i.
My advice to people who are looking forward to learning analytics and/or making such transitions possible:
Just believe in the process. Stay curious and keep learning.
